This is a work in progress site that I am making to eventually
archive media that's Gender-noncomforming in one place so they're easy to discover,
since they can be kinda hard to find, also so I can easily share content I like with my friends lol.
I started working on the website on 16/8/2025 so if you see this close to the date and it sucks,
I am working on it.
Title: Nemuro-kun wa Kao ga Ii! (Nemuro-Kun has a Beautiful Face!)
Vol: 3
Pages: 27
Official Japanese E-book
Mangadex
Rating: 7/10
Gender nonconformity: Mild(Girl goes after cute and shy guy)
Review:
Ok so, I put it here cause it subverts the for some reason widespread attractive guy chases over cute girl.
It isn't as prelevant as in the other stuff or does the story revovle around it but I would say it does break away
from the traditional gender roles in Romance manga a bit. Takamara is the one actively going after Nemuro,
While Nemuro himself is pretty cute and shy, he has trouble socializing and Takamara helps him get out of his shell a bit.
I haven't finished it yet (at chaoter 6), will update review when I finish it.
Title: Deltarune
Release Date: 2018
Deltarune Website
Rating: 10/10
Gender nonconformity: Main characters are genderqueer.
Review:
I will be honest, I am a massive deltarune fan so this review might be a little
biased but I really like the way it handles it handles its characters, their personality really isn't affected by their gender at all, they're just good characters that happen to be [GENDER],
speaking of that the main party literally consists of all gender non-comforming characters lol. The DPS(Susie) is a masc girl that dresses the least feminine of like the entire party and is basically "the cool one", the leader is non-binary(Kris)
and the healer is like a cute little guy and is the most femme by far, none of these people follow any gender sterotypes.
I guess if you want a story that DOES discuss the themes of not conforming to societal gender roles then you're probably not gonna find it here. Again, them being GNC is not acknowledged
in the story at all they just ARE, and while I really like stories that talk about the experience, sometimes it's nice to see a story with characters I can relate to just doing cool stuff.
